| Abstract | Sustainable development has become a central global priority as societies seek to balance economic advancement, environmental protection, and social well-being. Traditional development measurement approaches often emphasize economic indicators while providing limited understanding of innovation capacity, environmental responsibility, social inclusion, and long-term sustainability. Sustainable innovation indicators have emerged as important tools for evaluating whether technological and organizational innovations contribute effectively to broader development progress. This research examines Sustainable Innovation Indicators for Measuring Development Progress by analysing conceptual frameworks that integrate innovation performance with sustainability objectives. The study adopts a conceptual research approach based on existing theoretical perspectives related to sustainable development, innovation management, environmental sustainability, social impact assessment, and performance measurement systems. The analysis highlights that sustainable innovation indicators enable organizations and governments to evaluate progress through multidimensional perspectives, including technological advancement, environmental efficiency, social inclusion, resource optimization, and institutional capability. These indicators support evidence-based decision-making and help identify pathways toward sustainable economic and social transformation. The study identifies major challenges associated with sustainable innovation measurement, including indicator complexity, data availability limitations, measurement standardization issues, methodological differences, and difficulties in evaluating long-term impacts. Effective measurement requires integrated frameworks that combine quantitative metrics with qualitative assessments and contextual understanding. The research concludes that sustainable innovation indicators provide a valuable foundation for measuring development progress beyond conventional economic measures. Future development strategies require adaptive, transparent, and comprehensive indicator systems capable of capturing the interconnected relationship between innovation, sustainability, and societal advancement. |
