Abstract The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, and digital technologies has accelerated the adoption of intelligent automation across industries. Intelligent automation is transforming organizational processes by enabling automated decision-making, operational optimization, and enhanced productivity. However, the increasing integration of automation technologies has also created significant changes in workforce requirements, professional roles, and skill development priorities. This research examines Intelligent Automation and Human Skill Transformation by exploring how automation technologies influence workplace structures, employee capabilities, and future skill requirements. The study adopts a conceptual research approach based on existing theoretical perspectives related to artificial intelligence, automation, digital transformation, human capital development, and organizational change.
The analysis highlights that intelligent automation does not only replace repetitive tasks but also creates opportunities for human–machine collaboration, improved productivity, and the development of new professional capabilities. Emerging technologies require employees to develop advanced digital skills, analytical abilities, creativity, problem-solving capabilities, and adaptive learning competencies. The study identifies key challenges associated with intelligent automation implementation, including workforce displacement concerns, skill gaps, organizational resistance, ethical issues, and difficulties in workforce transition. Effective transformation requires comprehensive reskilling strategies, supportive organizational policies, continuous learning environments, and human-centred technology adoption.
The research concludes that intelligent automation should be viewed as a catalyst for human skill transformation rather than only a technological replacement mechanism. Future workplaces will increasingly depend on collaboration between intelligent systems and human capabilities to achieve sustainable productivity, innovation, and organizational resilience.
