| Abstract | The adoption of sustainable technologies has become an important pathway for developing economies seeking economic growth, environmental protection, and social development. Rapid technological advancement has created opportunities for improving energy efficiency, digital connectivity, agricultural productivity, healthcare accessibility, and industrial sustainability. However, developing economies continue to face significant challenges in adopting and implementing sustainable technologies due to financial limitations, infrastructure gaps, skill shortages, and institutional barriers. This research examines Sustainable Technology Adoption Models in Developing Economies and explores the factors influencing successful implementation of environmentally responsible and socially beneficial technologies. The study adopts a conceptual research approach based on existing theoretical perspectives related to technology adoption, sustainable development, innovation diffusion, digital transformation, and environmental management. The analysis highlights that sustainable technology adoption depends on the interaction between technological suitability, economic capability, policy support, organizational readiness, social acceptance, and environmental considerations. Renewable energy systems, digital technologies, smart agriculture solutions, and green industrial innovations provide significant opportunities for developing economies to improve productivity while reducing environmental impact. The study identifies major challenges including limited infrastructure, high initial investment costs, inadequate technical expertise, regulatory limitations, and unequal access to technological resources. Effective adoption requires supportive policies, public–private collaboration, capacity building, and locally appropriate technology solutions. The research concludes that sustainable technology adoption models can support inclusive economic development and environmental sustainability in developing economies. Future progress will depend on creating adaptive frameworks that integrate technological innovation with social needs, economic realities, and long-term sustainability objectives. |
