| Abstract | The rapid advancement of robotics and artificial intelligence has transformed the nature of workplace automation and human–machine collaboration. Traditional industrial robots were primarily designed to perform repetitive tasks within controlled environments with limited interaction capabilities. However, emerging human-aware robotics represents a new generation of intelligent robotic systems capable of understanding human behaviour, adapting to dynamic environments, and collaborating safely with human workers. These developments are creating new possibilities for future collaborative work environments where humans and robots jointly contribute to productivity, innovation, and problem-solving. This research examines human-aware robotics frameworks and explores their role in developing future collaborative workplaces. The study adopts a conceptual research approach based on existing theoretical perspectives related to robotics, artificial intelligence, human–robot interaction, cognitive computing, workplace automation, and intelligent systems. The analysis highlights that human-aware robotics improves collaboration through advanced perception, adaptive learning, natural communication, safety mechanisms, and context-aware decision-making. Technologies such as machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and sensor-based intelligence enable robots to understand human actions and respond appropriately within shared environments. The study identifies important challenges associated with human-aware robotics, including trust development, safety concerns, ethical considerations, technological complexity, workforce adaptation, and social acceptance. Successful integration requires human-centred design, transparent robotic behaviour, appropriate training, and responsible governance. The research concludes that human-aware robotics represents a significant pathway toward future collaborative work environments. Rather than replacing human workers, intelligent robots can enhance human capabilities by supporting complex tasks, improving workplace safety, and enabling new models of human–machine cooperation. |
