| Abstract | The rapid emergence of advanced technologies has fundamentally transformed global research systems by changing how knowledge is created, shared, analysed, and applied. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics, cloud computing, blockchain, and Internet of Things have introduced new possibilities for improving research efficiency, collaboration, and innovation capacity. These technologies have shifted research environments from traditional institution-centred models toward interconnected digital ecosystems where researchers can collaborate globally and access advanced computational resources. This research examines the role of emerging technologies as drivers of global research transformation and explores their influence on research methodologies, collaboration networks, knowledge management, and innovation development. The study adopts a conceptual research approach based on existing theoretical perspectives and scholarly discussions related to digital transformation, research innovation, technology adoption, and knowledge ecosystems. The analysis highlights that emerging technologies enhance research capabilities by supporting automated data analysis, intelligent decision-making, digital collaboration, and efficient knowledge dissemination. Artificial intelligence assists researchers in identifying patterns and generating insights, while cloud-based platforms enable large-scale collaboration and resource sharing. Similarly, blockchain and digital technologies improve research transparency, data security, and reproducibility. However, the integration of emerging technologies also presents challenges related to digital inequality, cybersecurity, ethical concerns, technological dependency, and skill requirements. Effective transformation requires responsible technology governance, researcher training, and supportive digital infrastructure. The study concludes that emerging technologies represent powerful drivers of global research transformation by enabling more connected, intelligent, and efficient research ecosystems. Future research development will depend on the ability of institutions to combine technological innovation with human expertise, ethical practices, and collaborative approaches. |
