| Abstract | The rapid expansion of financial technology has transformed modern financial systems by introducing innovative digital platforms, automated services, and technology-driven financial solutions. Emerging digital economies are increasingly adopting FinTech applications to improve financial accessibility, enhance operational efficiency, and support economic development. However, the accelerated growth of digital financial ecosystems has created significant governance requirements related to regulation, cybersecurity, data protection, ethical technology use, and consumer trust. This conceptual research article examines the role of financial technology governance in emerging digital economies and explores how effective governance frameworks support responsible FinTech development. The study analyses key governance dimensions, including regulatory mechanisms, digital security practices, artificial intelligence governance, data management strategies, and stakeholder collaboration. The findings indicate that effective FinTech governance enables innovation while reducing technological and financial risks. Balanced governance approaches help financial institutions, technology companies, and policymakers create secure and inclusive digital financial environments. However, challenges related to regulatory complexity, cross-border operations, cybersecurity threats, and ethical concerns require continuous policy development and institutional cooperation. The study concludes that financial technology governance represents a strategic foundation for sustainable digital economic transformation. Emerging economies must adopt adaptive governance models that encourage innovation while ensuring transparency, security, and responsible technology adoption. |
