| Abstract | Digital transformation has emerged as a significant force reshaping agricultural systems by integrating advanced technologies, data-driven decision-making, and intelligent farming practices. Rural communities increasingly require innovative solutions to address challenges related to productivity improvement, resource limitations, climate variability, market accessibility, and sustainable development. This conceptual research article examines digital agriculture transformation and its contribution to future rural development by analysing smart farming technologies, digital platforms, artificial intelligence applications, Internet of Things (IoT), precision agriculture, and rural innovation frameworks. The study adopts a conceptual research methodology based on the synthesis of scholarly literature, digital agriculture models, rural development approaches, and technology adoption studies. The analysis indicates that digital agriculture can enhance rural development through improved agricultural productivity, better resource management, enhanced information accessibility, and stronger connections between farmers, markets, and institutions. However, challenges related to digital infrastructure, technology affordability, digital skills, data governance, and unequal access influence successful transformation. The study concludes that digital agriculture transformation can support future rural development when implemented through inclusive strategies, farmer-centred digital solutions, supportive policies, and sustainable technology governance. |
