| Abstract | Climate change has introduced significant challenges for global agricultural systems by affecting crop productivity, resource availability, environmental stability, and food security. Future farming systems require innovative approaches capable of improving agricultural resilience while reducing environmental impacts. Climate-smart agriculture (CSA) has emerged as an integrated approach that combines sustainable farming practices, technological innovation, climate adaptation strategies, and resource-efficient management to address these challenges. This conceptual research article examines climate-smart agriculture approaches for future farming systems by analysing climate adaptation practices, sustainable agricultural technologies, resource optimization strategies, and resilience-oriented farming models. The study adopts a conceptual research methodology based on the synthesis of scholarly literature, climate-smart agriculture frameworks, sustainable farming models, and agricultural innovation studies. The analysis indicates that CSA approaches can enhance agricultural resilience through improved soil management, efficient water utilization, precision farming technologies, climate-informed decision-making, and sustainable production practices. However, challenges related to technology accessibility, financial limitations, knowledge gaps, policy implementation, and regional differences influence successful adoption. The study concludes that future farming systems require integrated climate-smart approaches combining scientific innovation, farmer participation, digital technologies, and supportive governance frameworks to achieve sustainable productivity and long-term food security. |
