Evidence-Based Policymaking Through Artificial Intelligence Analytics

| Abstract | The increasing availability of digital data and advances in artificial intelligence (AI) analytics have transformed the possibilities for evidence-based policymaking. Traditional policymaking approaches often rely on historical information, expert judgment, and limited analytical capacity, whereas AI-driven analytics can process large-scale, complex, and dynamic datasets to generate deeper insights for public decision-making. This conceptual research article examines the role of artificial intelligence analytics in supporting evidence-based policymaking by analysing data-driven governance approaches, predictive analytics, intelligent decision-support systems, and algorithmic policy evaluation mechanisms. The study explores how AI analytics can improve policy formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation while addressing challenges related to transparency, accountability, data quality, ethics, and institutional readiness. A conceptual research methodology is adopted through the synthesis of scholarly literature, digital governance frameworks, AI policy studies, and evidence-based decision-making models. The findings indicate that AI analytics can enhance policymaking capabilities by improving predictive accuracy, identifying complex patterns, supporting resource allocation, and enabling timely policy interventions. However, responsible implementation requires strong governance mechanisms to manage algorithmic bias, privacy risks, interpretability limitations, and human oversight requirements. The study concludes that AI-enabled evidence-based policymaking requires a balanced framework combining advanced analytics with ethical governance, institutional capacity, and transparent decision-making processes. |
