| Abstract | The rapid advancement of digital technologies has transformed social, economic, and institutional systems, creating new opportunities and challenges for sustainable development. Technology policy approaches have become essential for guiding digital transformation in a manner that promotes inclusiveness, ethical innovation, environmental responsibility, and long-term societal benefits. This conceptual research article examines technology policy approaches for developing sustainable digital societies by analysing the role of policy frameworks, digital governance strategies, responsible innovation models, and inclusive technology development. The study explores how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, digital platforms, cloud computing, data-driven systems, and smart infrastructure, influence sustainable digital transformation. A conceptual research methodology is adopted through the analysis of existing scholarly literature, digital policy frameworks, sustainability models, and technology governance approaches. The findings indicate that effective technology policies can support sustainable digital societies by improving digital inclusion, strengthening data governance, encouraging responsible innovation, and promoting equitable access to digital resources. However, challenges related to digital inequality, cybersecurity, privacy protection, regulatory adaptation, and technological dependency remain significant concerns. The study concludes that sustainable digital societies require integrated technology policies that balance innovation, ethical responsibility, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. |
