| Abstract | The continuous evolution of digital technologies has created increasing demand for communication networks capable of providing higher speed, improved reliability, lower latency, and intelligent connectivity. Traditional communication infrastructures often face limitations in supporting emerging digital applications such as artificial intelligence services, Internet of Things ecosystems, autonomous systems, immersive technologies, and large-scale data-driven platforms. Next-generation communication networks have emerged as advanced technological frameworks designed to overcome these limitations by integrating high-performance connectivity, intelligent network management, edge computing, and adaptive communication architectures. This study examines next-generation communication networks and their impact on digital innovation by analysing their contribution to connectivity performance, application efficiency, digital service development, and technological adaptability. The research explores key communication advancements including 5G-enabled systems, future 6G architectures, intelligent network automation, edge-based communication frameworks, and software-defined networking approaches. A simulation-based analytical framework is developed to compare conventional communication networks with next-generation network models using evaluation indicators including network efficiency, innovation capability, service reliability, and digital transformation support. The findings demonstrate that next-generation communication networks significantly enhance digital innovation by enabling faster data exchange, intelligent service delivery, and scalable technology adoption. The results indicate that advanced communication infrastructures provide essential foundations for emerging digital ecosystems, including smart cities, autonomous systems, connected devices, and intelligent applications. However, successful deployment requires addressing challenges related to infrastructure investment, cybersecurity risks, interoperability, spectrum management, and technological complexity. The study contributes to communication technology and digital innovation research by presenting next-generation networks as strategic enablers of future digital transformation. The integration of intelligent connectivity, advanced computing capabilities, and adaptive network management approaches can support the development of resilient, efficient, and innovation-driven digital ecosystems. |
