Abstract The rapid growth of digital information systems has increased the demand for secure, transparent, and reliable approaches for managing digital data across organizations and interconnected networks. Traditional information management systems generally rely on centralized architectures, which may create challenges related to data security, transparency, trust management, and vulnerability to unauthorized modification. Blockchain technology has emerged as an innovative decentralized approach that enables secure information management through distributed ledgers, cryptographic protection, consensus mechanisms, and transparent transaction records.
This study examines blockchain-based approaches for transparent and secure information management by analysing their contribution to data integrity, security enhancement, transparency improvement, and decentralized trust creation. The research explores the role of blockchain mechanisms, including distributed ledger technology, smart contracts, encryption techniques, and consensus protocols, in developing reliable information management frameworks. A simulation-based analytical framework is developed to compare conventional centralized information systems with blockchain-based management approaches using evaluation indicators including transparency effectiveness, security performance, data integrity, and operational reliability.
The findings demonstrate that blockchain-based approaches significantly improve information management by enhancing trust, reducing unauthorized modifications, and strengthening data security. The results indicate that decentralized information systems provide greater transparency and reliability compared with traditional centralized models. However, successful blockchain implementation requires addressing challenges related to scalability, computational efficiency, regulatory compliance, privacy protection, and organizational adoption.
