| Abstract | The achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires effective governance systems capable of translating global sustainability objectives into practical local actions. Local governments play a critical role in implementing sustainable development strategies because they directly interact with communities and manage essential public services. However, increasing environmental, social, and economic challenges require local administrations to adopt innovative approaches that improve service delivery, strengthen citizen participation, and enhance institutional effectiveness. This study examines the role of local government innovation in supporting Sustainable Development Goal implementation by analysing how innovative governance practices, digital transformation, participatory approaches, and institutional capacity influence sustainable development outcomes. The research adopts an analytical framework based on innovation maturity, SDG implementation capability, sustainable service delivery, community engagement, and governance effectiveness. A structured evaluation approach is applied to assess how innovative local governance mechanisms contribute to achieving sustainability objectives. The findings indicate that local governments adopting advanced innovation strategies demonstrate improved sustainability performance, stronger community participation, and more effective public service delivery. However, challenges related to resource limitations, institutional capacity gaps, technological barriers, and policy coordination continue to affect successful SDG implementation. The study highlights that local government innovation represents a critical pathway for transforming sustainability goals into measurable community-level outcomes. Effective SDG implementation requires integration between innovative governance models, technological solutions, stakeholder collaboration, and inclusive planning approaches. The research contributes to sustainable governance studies by demonstrating the importance of local innovation capacity in advancing sustainable development and strengthening resilient communities. |
