Abstract The rapid expansion of digital technologies has transformed the delivery of public services by enabling governments to provide administrative facilities through electronic platforms. E-Governance has become an important component of modern public administration by improving accessibility, reducing procedural complexity, and creating more direct interaction between citizens and government institutions. However, the success of digital public services depends not only on technological availability but also on service quality, reliability, usability, security, and citizen satisfaction. Understanding citizens’ experiences with e-governance platforms is essential for developing efficient, inclusive, and responsive digital administration systems.
This study examines the relationship between e-governance service quality and citizen satisfaction by analysing how digital service characteristics influence public perceptions and adoption behaviour. The research adopts an analytical framework based on service quality dimensions, including accessibility, reliability, responsiveness, security, usability, and user trust. A structured evaluation approach is applied to examine how these factors contribute to citizen satisfaction with online government services. The findings indicate that high-quality e-governance services improve citizen satisfaction by providing convenient access, faster service delivery, transparent procedures, and improved communication channels. However, challenges related to digital literacy, privacy concerns, technical difficulties, and institutional service limitations continue to affect user experiences.
The study highlights that successful e-governance requires a citizen-centred approach where digital systems are designed according to public needs and expectations. Technological infrastructure alone cannot guarantee service effectiveness unless supported by reliable systems, responsive administration, and continuous quality improvement. The research contributes to digital governance and public administration studies by demonstrating the importance of service quality management in strengthening citizen trust and satisfaction within electronic government environments.
