| Abstract | The increasing pressure on global food systems due to population growth, climate variability, resource scarcity, and environmental degradation has accelerated the development of innovative agricultural technologies. Smart greenhouse systems have emerged as an advanced approach for improving food production efficiency by integrating automation, sensors, artificial intelligence, climate control technologies, and data-driven management practices. These systems enable precise control over environmental conditions while optimizing the use of water, energy, nutrients, and agricultural inputs. This study examines smart greenhouse systems for resource-efficient food production through a conceptual analysis of controlled environment agriculture, intelligent monitoring systems, automated cultivation technologies, and sustainable production strategies. The research explores how smart greenhouse technologies contribute to improved crop productivity, reduced resource consumption, enhanced environmental control, and sustainable agricultural development. The study adopts an analytical framework based on precision agriculture, sustainable food production, agricultural automation, and digital farming principles. The findings indicate that smart greenhouse systems improve resource efficiency through optimized irrigation, climate regulation, nutrient management, and real-time crop monitoring. However, challenges related to high investment costs, technological complexity, energy requirements, technical skills, and accessibility limitations influence their widespread adoption. The study concludes that smart greenhouse systems provide a promising pathway for developing sustainable and resilient food production models. Strengthening technological accessibility, improving farmer training, integrating renewable energy solutions, and developing affordable automation systems are essential for expanding smart greenhouse applications in future agricultural systems. |
