| Abstract | Industrial workplaces often involve complex operational environments where workers are exposed to physical, chemical, mechanical, and environmental hazards. Traditional safety management approaches mainly depend on periodic inspections and manual monitoring, which may not provide continuous awareness of worker conditions and emerging risks. The advancement of wearable sensor technologies has introduced new opportunities for improving occupational safety through real-time monitoring, hazard identification, and intelligent safety management. This study examines the role of wearable sensor technologies in enhancing industrial safety management systems. The research explores how biometric monitoring, environmental sensing, location tracking, motion detection, and real-time safety analytics contribute to improved worker protection and accident prevention. A conceptual analytical framework supported by simulated observations is developed to evaluate the influence of wearable safety technologies on industrial safety performance. The findings indicate that real-time hazard monitoring, worker health assessment, emergency response capability, location tracking accuracy, and safety data analytics significantly contribute to improving workplace safety outcomes. However, challenges including privacy concerns, implementation costs, data security risks, worker acceptance, and technological limitations continue to influence adoption. The study contributes to industrial safety engineering and occupational health research by highlighting the importance of wearable technologies in developing proactive and intelligent safety management systems. The findings provide practical implications for industries, safety professionals, technology developers, and policymakers seeking advanced approaches for improving workplace safety. |
