| Abstract | The increasing complexity of modern manufacturing systems and the demand for higher product quality have accelerated the adoption of automated inspection technologies. Machine vision has emerged as a transformative solution by combining digital imaging, artificial intelligence, computer vision algorithms, and automated decision-making capabilities to improve quality control processes. Unlike traditional manual inspection methods, machine vision systems enable faster, more accurate, and consistent evaluation of manufactured products. This study examines the role of machine vision technology in automated quality inspection within manufacturing environments. The research explores how image acquisition systems, artificial intelligence-based defect detection, real-time inspection, automated classification, and quality analytics contribute to improving manufacturing quality performance. A conceptual analytical framework supported by simulated observations is developed to evaluate the influence of machine vision capabilities on automated inspection effectiveness. The findings indicate that AI-based defect detection, real-time visual inspection, image processing accuracy, automated classification, and quality data analytics significantly contribute to improving manufacturing quality outcomes. However, challenges including high implementation costs, complex system integration, data requirements, environmental variations, and technical expertise limitations continue to influence adoption. The study contributes to smart manufacturing and industrial automation research by highlighting the strategic importance of machine vision systems for achieving reliable and efficient quality inspection. The findings provide practical implications for manufacturers, automation engineers, technology developers, and industrial stakeholders seeking advanced quality management solutions. |
