| Abstract | The increasing demand for sustainable industrial development has accelerated the need for energy-efficient production strategies within smart factories. Modern manufacturing systems consume significant amounts of energy due to complex production processes, automated equipment, and continuous operational requirements. Smart factory technologies based on Industry 4.0 provide new opportunities for optimizing energy consumption through intelligent production planning, real-time monitoring, data analytics, and automated decision-making. This study examines the role of energy-efficient production planning in improving the sustainability and operational performance of smart factories. The research explores how intelligent scheduling, energy monitoring systems, predictive analytics, resource optimization, and digital manufacturing technologies contribute to reducing energy consumption while maintaining production efficiency. A conceptual analytical framework supported by simulated observations is developed to evaluate the influence of energy-efficient planning strategies on smart factory performance. The findings indicate that intelligent production scheduling, real-time energy monitoring, resource optimization, predictive analytics, and automated decision support significantly contribute to improved energy efficiency. However, challenges including high implementation costs, data management complexity, integration difficulties, cybersecurity risks, and technological skill requirements continue to influence adoption. The study contributes to sustainable manufacturing and smart factory research by highlighting the importance of energy-aware production planning approaches. The findings provide practical implications for manufacturing organizations, industrial engineers, technology developers, and policymakers seeking sustainable strategies for reducing industrial energy consumption. |
