| Abstract | The increasing demand for sustainable industrial practices has accelerated the adoption of advanced digital technologies for improving manufacturing efficiency, resource utilization, and environmental performance. Digital Twin technology has emerged as a transformative approach by creating virtual representations of physical manufacturing systems that enable real-time monitoring, simulation, optimization, and predictive decision-making. Through integration with Industrial Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data analytics, Digital Twins provide opportunities to enhance sustainable manufacturing operations. This study examines the applications of Digital Twin technology in developing sustainable manufacturing systems. The research explores how Digital Twin capabilities, including real-time process simulation, resource optimization, predictive analysis, energy management, and operational intelligence, contribute to improving manufacturing sustainability. A conceptual analytical framework supported by simulated observations is developed to evaluate the influence of Digital Twin applications on sustainable manufacturing performance. The findings indicate that real-time monitoring, resource optimization, predictive analytics, energy efficiency management, and process simulation significantly contribute to sustainable manufacturing improvement. However, challenges including high implementation costs, data integration complexity, cybersecurity risks, technological expertise requirements, and interoperability limitations continue to influence adoption. The study contributes to sustainable manufacturing and industrial digital transformation research by highlighting the strategic importance of Digital Twin technology in achieving intelligent, efficient, and environmentally responsible production systems. The findings provide practical implications for manufacturing organizations, technology developers, and industrial policymakers seeking sustainable Industry 4.0 solutions. |
