| Abstract | Patient satisfaction has become an important indicator for evaluating healthcare service performance, particularly in public healthcare institutions where service accessibility, affordability, and quality of care directly influence population health outcomes. Public healthcare facilities serve diverse communities and face continuous challenges related to resource limitations, patient expectations, waiting time, communication quality, and healthcare delivery efficiency. Understanding patient perceptions of service quality is essential for improving healthcare management and strengthening patient-centered care. This study examines the relationship between service quality and patient satisfaction in public healthcare institutions. The research explores how healthcare provider behavior, waiting time management, facility infrastructure, communication effectiveness, accessibility of services, and reliability of care influence patient satisfaction outcomes. A conceptual analytical framework supported by simulated observations is developed to evaluate the contribution of service quality dimensions toward improving patient experiences. The findings indicate that healthcare provider communication, service reliability, accessibility, facility environment, and waiting time management significantly influence patient satisfaction. However, challenges including overcrowding, limited resources, staff shortages, infrastructure constraints, and increasing patient expectations continue to affect service quality improvement. The study contributes to healthcare management and public health research by highlighting the importance of quality improvement strategies in public healthcare institutions. The findings provide practical implications for healthcare administrators, policymakers, and service providers seeking to enhance patient-centered healthcare delivery. |
