| Abstract | Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative technology in medical imaging by improving diagnostic accuracy, image interpretation, workflow efficiency, and clinical decision support. Advanced AI techniques, particularly machine learning and deep learning algorithms, have enabled healthcare systems to analyse complex medical images including radiographs, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography scans, and ultrasound images with enhanced speed and precision. These developments provide significant opportunities for improving early disease detection and personalized healthcare. This study examines the opportunities and ethical challenges associated with the application of Artificial Intelligence in medical imaging. The research explores how AI-based image analysis, diagnostic assistance, workflow optimization, predictive imaging models, and clinical decision support contribute to healthcare improvement. A conceptual analytical framework supported by simulated observations is developed to evaluate the influence of AI capabilities on medical imaging performance and ethical considerations. The findings indicate that AI technologies enhance medical imaging processes by improving diagnostic efficiency, reducing interpretation workload, supporting early detection, and enabling data-driven clinical decisions. However, ethical challenges including algorithmic bias, lack of explainability, patient data privacy concerns, accountability issues, and clinical acceptance barriers remain significant considerations. The study contributes to healthcare artificial intelligence and medical imaging research by highlighting the importance of balancing technological innovation with ethical responsibility. The findings provide practical implications for healthcare institutions, radiologists, AI developers, and policymakers seeking responsible implementation of AI-driven medical imaging systems. |
