Abstract The rapid transformation of healthcare through digital technologies has significantly improved medical information management, clinical communication, and healthcare accessibility. Digital medical systems, including electronic health records, telemedicine platforms, mobile health applications, and cloud-based healthcare services, generate and process large volumes of sensitive patient information. While these technologies provide substantial benefits, concerns regarding healthcare data privacy have become increasingly important in influencing patient trust and technology acceptance.
This study examines the relationship between healthcare data privacy and patient trust in digital medical systems. The research explores how data security practices, privacy transparency, informed consent mechanisms, cybersecurity protection, and patient control over health information influence trust and acceptance of digital healthcare technologies. A conceptual analytical framework supported by simulated observations is developed to evaluate the impact of privacy-related factors on patient confidence in digital healthcare systems.
The findings indicate that strong data protection practices, transparent privacy policies, secure information management, and patient-centered data governance positively influence trust in digital medical systems. However, challenges including cybersecurity threats, unauthorized data access risks, limited privacy awareness, regulatory complexities, and concerns regarding secondary data use continue to affect patient confidence.
The study contributes to digital health governance and healthcare informatics research by highlighting the importance of privacy protection as a foundation for sustainable digital healthcare adoption. The findings provide practical implications for healthcare organizations, policymakers, technology developers, and healthcare professionals seeking to establish secure and trustworthy digital medical environments.
