| Abstract | The rapid advancement of mobile technologies has transformed educational practices by enabling flexible, accessible, and personalized learning experiences. Mobile learning applications have become increasingly important in supporting student engagement, knowledge acquisition, and continuous learning beyond traditional classroom boundaries. These applications provide interactive resources, multimedia content, assessment tools, and personalized learning opportunities that may contribute to improved knowledge retention. This study examines the relationship between mobile learning applications and student knowledge retention. The research explores how interactive content, personalized learning features, repeated practice activities, instant feedback mechanisms, and accessibility influence students’ ability to retain and apply acquired knowledge. A conceptual analytical framework supported by simulated observations is developed to evaluate the contribution of mobile learning applications toward improving retention outcomes. The findings indicate that mobile learning applications can positively influence knowledge retention by supporting continuous practice, learner engagement, self-paced learning, and reinforcement activities. However, challenges including digital distraction, technology access differences, application quality issues, data privacy concerns, and limited instructional integration continue to affect successful implementation. The study contributes to educational technology research by explaining how mobile learning applications support long-term knowledge development and learner engagement. The findings provide practical implications for educators, institutions, and application developers seeking effective approaches for integrating mobile technologies into educational environments. |
