| Abstract | The increasing recognition of student well-being as an essential component of educational success has encouraged institutions to adopt approaches that address both academic and emotional development. Social-emotional learning (SEL) has emerged as an important educational framework that supports students in developing self-awareness, emotional regulation, interpersonal skills, responsible decision-making, and positive social relationships. These competencies contribute significantly to creating supportive learning environments and improving overall student well-being. This study examines the relationship between social-emotional learning and student well-being in educational settings. The research explores how emotional awareness, relationship skills, self-management, empathy development, and supportive learning environments influence students’ psychological well-being and academic experiences. A conceptual analytical framework supported by simulated observations is developed to evaluate the contribution of SEL practices toward enhancing student well-being. The findings indicate that social-emotional learning can positively influence student well-being by improving emotional resilience, interpersonal relationships, academic engagement, and psychological confidence. However, challenges including limited teacher preparation, curriculum integration difficulties, resource constraints, and differences in student needs continue to affect effective implementation. The study contributes to educational psychology and student development research by explaining how SEL can support holistic student growth beyond traditional academic achievement. The findings provide practical implications for educators, institutions, policymakers, and educational stakeholders seeking strategies for promoting healthier and more supportive learning environments. |
