| Abstract | The rapid expansion of digital technologies, data-driven marketing systems, and artificial intelligence-based analytics has transformed the nature of contemporary advertising. Personalized advertising has become a widely adopted marketing strategy that enables organizations to deliver customized messages based on consumer preferences, browsing behaviour, purchase history, demographic characteristics, and online interactions. While personalized advertising provides significant benefits through improved relevance, convenience, and consumer engagement, it has also intensified concerns regarding privacy, data protection, surveillance, and consumer autonomy. This study examines the relationship between personalized advertising practices and consumer privacy concerns by analysing the factors that influence consumer perceptions, acceptance, and resistance toward data-driven marketing approaches. The research adopts a conceptual methodology based on existing literature related to digital marketing, consumer behaviour, privacy management, and information technology ethics. The study explores major dimensions including data transparency, perceived control, trust in organizations, personalization benefits, and privacy risks. The findings indicate that consumers generally appreciate personalized advertising when they perceive clear value and maintain control over their personal information. However, excessive data collection, unclear privacy practices, and limited transparency can negatively influence consumer trust and create resistance toward personalized marketing initiatives. The study highlights the importance of ethical data practices, transparent communication, and consumer-centric privacy management strategies for sustainable digital advertising. The research contributes to digital marketing and consumer privacy literature by providing insights into balancing personalization benefits with responsible data governance. The findings offer practical implications for marketers, technology companies, and policymakers seeking to develop trustworthy and privacy-conscious advertising ecosystems. |
