| Abstract | Start-ups operate in highly competitive and uncertain business environments where entrepreneurial capabilities significantly influence survival, growth, and performance outcomes. Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) has emerged as an important strategic concept that reflects an organization’s willingness to innovate, take calculated risks, and proactively respond to market opportunities. This study examines the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and business performance among start-ups by analysing how entrepreneurial behaviours contribute to innovation capability, competitive advantage, and sustainable growth. The study adopts a conceptual research approach based on existing literature related to entrepreneurship, strategic management, innovation, and start-up performance. The analysis focuses on major dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation, including innovativeness, risk-taking, proactiveness, competitive aggressiveness, and autonomy, and explores their influence on business outcomes. The findings indicate that start-ups with stronger entrepreneurial orientation are more likely to achieve improved performance through market adaptation, product innovation, and opportunity recognition. Entrepreneurial strategies enable young firms to respond effectively to changing customer demands and competitive pressures. However, challenges such as limited resources, uncertain markets, financial constraints, and capability gaps may restrict the successful implementation of entrepreneurial strategies. The study highlights that entrepreneurial orientation represents a critical capability for start-ups seeking sustainable growth. Developing innovation-driven cultures, strategic flexibility, and proactive decision-making approaches can improve the ability of start-ups to compete and achieve long-term success. |
