| Abstract | In modern organizational environments, leadership approaches that emphasize employee development, ethical responsibility, and social contribution have gained increasing importance. Servant Leadership represents a people-centred leadership philosophy in which leaders prioritize employee growth, empowerment, trust building, and collective organizational success. Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) reflects voluntary employee actions that extend beyond formal job requirements and contribute positively to workplace effectiveness. This study examines the relationship between servant leadership and organizational citizenship behavior by analysing how supportive and ethical leadership practices influence employee willingness to engage in discretionary workplace contributions. The study adopts a conceptual research approach based on existing theoretical perspectives related to servant leadership, employee motivation, organizational commitment, and workplace behaviour. The analysis explores key servant leadership dimensions, including empathy, empowerment, ethical conduct, community orientation, and employee development, and examines their contribution toward strengthening organizational citizenship behavior. The findings indicate that servant leadership encourages employees to demonstrate higher levels of cooperation, responsibility, knowledge sharing, and supportive workplace behaviour. Leaders who focus on employee well-being and personal development create environments where employees feel valued and become more willing to contribute beyond their assigned responsibilities. However, challenges such as leadership inconsistency, organizational resistance, and difficulties in measuring behavioural outcomes may influence successful implementation. The study highlights that servant leadership can function as an effective mechanism for developing positive organizational cultures. By promoting trust, respect, and employee empowerment, servant leaders can enhance organizational citizenship behavior and support sustainable organizational performance. |
