| Abstract | In the contemporary business environment, organizations increasingly recognize talented employees as a fundamental source of competitive advantage and sustainable growth. The ability to attract, develop, engage, and retain skilled professionals has become a strategic priority due to increasing workforce mobility, technological transformation, and changing employee expectations. Strategic Talent Management (STM) provides an integrated framework for identifying critical talent, developing employee capabilities, managing performance, and creating long-term workforce sustainability. This study examines the relationship between strategic talent management practices and employee retention by analysing how organizational talent strategies influence employee commitment, satisfaction, and intention to remain with the organization. The study adopts a conceptual research approach based on existing theoretical perspectives related to talent management, employee engagement, organizational commitment, and human resource sustainability. The analysis focuses on major talent management practices including strategic recruitment, employee development, career management, leadership development, performance evaluation, and recognition systems. The findings indicate that organizations implementing structured talent management systems are more likely to improve employee retention by creating meaningful career opportunities, strengthening workplace relationships, and enhancing employee satisfaction. However, challenges such as talent shortages, ineffective leadership, limited growth opportunities, and changing workforce priorities continue to affect retention outcomes. The study emphasizes that employee retention depends not only on financial compensation but also on organizational support, professional development, recognition, and workplace culture. Strategic Talent Management therefore represents an essential approach for organizations seeking to build committed, capable, and sustainable workforces. |
