| Abstract | Workplace diversity has become a significant area of research in contemporary organizational studies due to its increasing influence on innovation, collaboration, and decision-making processes. Modern organizations operate within multicultural and globally connected environments where employees differ in terms of cultural backgrounds, professional experiences, cognitive approaches, knowledge systems, and personal perspectives. These differences can provide valuable resources for organizations seeking creative solutions to complex problems. This conceptual study examines the influence of workplace diversity on creative problem-solving through perspectives of organizational behaviour, diversity management, innovation theory, and knowledge-based approaches. The study explores how diverse teams contribute to idea generation, alternative thinking, improved decision-making, and organizational creativity. It also analyses the conditions required for transforming workforce diversity into productive collaboration. The analysis indicates that workplace diversity can positively influence creative problem-solving by increasing cognitive variety, encouraging knowledge exchange, and challenging conventional approaches. However, diversity alone does not automatically produce creativity. Effective leadership, inclusive organizational culture, psychological safety, and supportive communication mechanisms are essential for maximizing the benefits of diverse teams. The study highlights that organizations must move beyond representation-based diversity approaches toward inclusion-oriented strategies that enable employees to actively participate and contribute their unique perspectives. Challenges including communication barriers, interpersonal conflicts, unconscious bias, and resistance to diversity initiatives must be effectively managed. The study concludes that workplace diversity represents a strategic resource for enhancing creative problem-solving capability. Organizations that develop inclusive environments and effectively manage diverse talent can improve innovation capacity, strengthen decision-making quality, and achieve sustainable competitive advantage. |
