| Abstract | The increasing globalization of business environments has resulted in the development of culturally diverse workplaces where leaders must effectively manage differences in values, communication styles, expectations, and professional behaviours. In such environments, emotional intelligence has emerged as an important leadership capability that enables individuals to understand emotions, build interpersonal relationships, manage conflicts, and promote effective collaboration. Leadership effectiveness in multicultural organizations requires not only technical competence but also the ability to navigate complex social and emotional dynamics. This study examines the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership effectiveness in multicultural organizations through a conceptual analysis of leadership theories, organizational behaviour research, emotional intelligence frameworks, and cross-cultural management studies. The research explores how emotional awareness, empathy, self-regulation, social skills, and cultural sensitivity contribute to effective leadership practices. The analysis indicates that emotionally intelligent leaders are better equipped to manage diverse teams, enhance employee engagement, resolve workplace conflicts, and create inclusive organizational cultures. Emotional intelligence supports effective communication by enabling leaders to recognize cultural differences and respond appropriately to varied employee perspectives. However, challenges such as cultural misunderstandings, leadership biases, communication barriers, and differences in emotional expression may influence leadership outcomes. The study concludes that emotional intelligence represents a critical capability for effective leadership in multicultural organizations. Leaders who develop emotional awareness and cultural adaptability can strengthen collaboration, improve team performance, and create inclusive environments that support organizational success in globally connected workplaces. |
