| Abstract | In contemporary organisations, innovation has become a critical factor influencing competitiveness, adaptability, and long-term sustainability. Employee innovation behaviour plays an important role in generating new ideas, improving organisational processes, and developing creative solutions to emerging challenges. Leadership style significantly influences employees’ willingness to explore new approaches, share knowledge, and engage in innovative activities. Among different leadership approaches, transformational leadership has received considerable attention due to its ability to inspire employees, encourage creativity, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. This study examines the relationship between transformational leadership and employee innovation behaviour through a conceptual analysis of leadership theories, organisational behaviour research, and innovation management perspectives. The research explores how transformational leadership dimensions, including inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, individual consideration, and idealised influence, contribute to employees’ creative thinking and innovative performance. The findings indicate that transformational leaders enhance employee innovation behaviour by building trust, encouraging experimentation, supporting knowledge sharing, and creating psychologically safe work environments. However, organisations may face challenges related to leadership capability gaps, resistance to change, resource limitations, and maintaining innovation-focused cultures. The study concludes that transformational leadership represents an important organisational capability for developing innovative employees and strengthening competitive advantage. Organisations that promote transformational leadership practices can create environments where employees are motivated to generate ideas, solve problems creatively, and contribute actively to organisational development. |
