| Abstract | The rapid advancement of quantum computing represents a transformative development in computational science with significant implications for the future of data security. While quantum technologies offer unprecedented computational capabilities for solving complex problems, they simultaneously introduce potential risks to existing cryptographic infrastructures. Current encryption systems widely used for secure communication, financial transactions, healthcare information management, and digital identity protection may become vulnerable to future quantum attacks. This study examines the relationship between quantum computing advancements and emerging data security challenges by analysing the transition from conventional cryptographic mechanisms toward post-quantum security frameworks. A conceptual analytical framework is developed to evaluate quantum-related security risks, cryptographic vulnerabilities, and potential protective strategies. The research explores the role of post-quantum cryptography, quantum-resistant algorithms, and hybrid security architectures in strengthening future digital ecosystems. The analysis indicates that proactive migration toward quantum-resistant security mechanisms is essential for maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of digital information. However, challenges related to algorithm standardization, implementation complexity, computational overhead, and global cybersecurity readiness remain significant barriers. This study contributes to the understanding of quantum-driven cybersecurity transformation and highlights strategic approaches for preparing future data security infrastructures. |
